Intercord
Intercord - Intercord Tonträger GmbH is a German record label founded in 1966. Initially focused on classical music, the label expanded its repertoire in the 1970s—venturing into Krautrock (establishing a platform for the genre via its sub-label, Spiegelei) and jazz (through its sub-label, Freedom). In the 1990s, Intercord became a market leader in the Eurodance sector and in the compilation market, notably with series such as *Dance Mission*. In 1994, its owner, the Georg von Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, sold Intercord to EMI; by 2000, the label had been integrated into EMI’s Cologne branch.
