ORWO
ORWO - (short for ORiginal Wolfen) was one of the largest magnetic tape manufacturers in the socialist bloc. In the 1970s and 1980s, ORWO produced massive volumes of magnetic tape for audio cassettes, reels, video cassettes, and computer storage media. The company existed from the late 1960s until privatization in 1990, after which it was bought by the Turkish RAKS, went bankrupt and closed in 1994.
