Radio Shack - the American company was founded in 1921 as a mail-order store selling components and tools for amateur radio enthusiasts. In 1962, the company was acquired by Tandy Corporation. In the summer of 1995, the company changed its logo and the spelling of its name from Radio Shack to RadioShack. Before its bankruptcy in 2015, it was the largest chain of electronics retail stores in North America.
