Thorens

Thorens - founded in 1883 in Switzerland to produce music boxes and musical instruments, the company later began producing gramophones and the first record players. International sales rapidly expanded in the early 20th century and later in the 1950s. In the mid-1960s, after reorganization, the company moved to Germany. In 1999, it declared bankruptcy. In 2001, operations and production resumed.
