ICM

ICM - the company was founded in 1972 ICM (International Cassette Ministry) is a large Swiss company that in the 70-80s produced cassettes and components for them, including for BASF, Philips, JVC. ICM founder and director Werner Weber initially produced cassette tapes of Christian music and church services. But this turned out to be commercially unprofitable, and contact was established with major record companies, on whose orders ICM began to release cassettes with recordings, and then blank cassettes under its own brand. The successful enterprise existed until October 1990, when, due to a general decline in audio cassette sales worldwide, ICM Switzerland ceased production at its Swiss factories in Butticon, Lausanne and Diesenhofen and transferred it to Italy. She justified this on the grounds of lower production costs and better export opportunities to supply European neighbors. However, the idea turned out to be not the best - the Italians deliberately ruined the company (according to some sources, the local mafia was behind this) and already in July 1991 ICM declared bankruptcy.
