JVC

JVC - JVC (Japan Victor Company Ltd.) (Japanese: 日本ビクター株式会社 Nihon bikuta: kabusikigaisha) (TYO: 6792) is a Japanese company founded in 1927, engaged in the production of household, audio and video equipment, software and media products. It became famous in the mid-1950s when it launched the first mass-produced television on the Japanese market. In 1976, she developed the VHS video recording format. For the Japanese market I used the Victor brand. In 1953, the company bought Matsushita. In 2007, Victor Company of Japan Ltd confirmed a strategic capital alliance with Kenwood and SPARKX Investment, reducing Matsushita's stake to approximately 37%. In March 2008, Matsushita (Panasonic) agreed to divest the company and merge it with Kenwood Electronics, creating JVC Kenwood Holdings. Merged with Kenwood to form JVCKENWOOD Corp. in 2008. As of 2017, more than half of the combined company's revenue came from automobile electronics, and the number of employees was 17.8 thousand people.
