mfp / Music For Pleasure - the British label was originally founded in 1965 as a joint venture between Hamlyn and EMI Records, distributing inexpensive reissues and original material worldwide. MFP continued to operate throughout the 1970s, but in the early 1980s, it encountered difficulties due to changes in technology and the streamlining of major label operations. Ultimately, MFP became little more than a global distribution network. In 2006, MFP was revived under the control of EMI Gold.
