Smat

Smat - The original brand was SECA was created in South Korea, in 1978 it was renamed SMAT, supplier of products under the brand is SKC. The predecessor of this company was Suwon Electronics, founded in 1976, grew up under the management of Sunkyung Group and changed its name to Sunkyung Magnetic Co., Ltd, became independent from SK Group in 1991. In 1991, a factory was founded in China, in 1998, they stopped manufacturing in Korea and began assembling them in China (manufactured in Korea). In addition to the tape generally available on the market, the company also produced cassette tape type "kek", which was supplied to small factories producing cassette tapes, records or language textbooks. From 1998 to 1999, the cassettes of this company were emblazoned with the phrase: "Smat audio cassette covers more than 20% of the world market demand." In 1979 it came out on top in South Korea and fourth in the world in the production of tapes for VHS recorders. The company's fortunes worsened in the 2000s, and it went bankrupt in November 2000. The cassette business was spun off in January 2007, and the company closed on November 28, 2012.
