Yamaha - the Japanese company Yamaha Corporation was founded in 1887. Initially engaged in the manufacture of musical instruments—starting with organs—it later expanded into the production of pianos, other musical instruments, audio equipment, and professional sound gear. Its signature logo, featuring three tuning forks, is one of the company's most recognizable symbols. Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., which specializes in motorcycles, engines, and other machinery, was spun off into a separate company in 1955.
