Ampex

Ampex - Ampex Data Systems Corporation is an American electronics company founded in 1944. Ampex quickly became a leader in audio tape technology, developing numerous analog formats for music and film recording that remained in use until the 1990s. In 1959, Ampex acquired Orradio Industries, becoming the Ampex Magnetic Tape Division. In 1995, Ampex sold this division, then known as Ampex Recording Media Corporation, to Equitable Life Insurance, which became Quantegy Inc. In 2014, the company became part of Delta Information Systems.
