This Privacy Policy explains how tapes.fans (“tapes.fans,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you visit [https://tapes.fans](https://tapes.fans), create an account, sign in using Facebook, or otherwise use our services (the “Services”).
1. Who We Are

Depending on how you use the Services, we may process the following categories of information.
2.1 Information You Provide Directly

- Your password in hashed form if you create an account directly with us;
- Profile information that you choose to provide;
- Comments, messages, and other content you submit;

- Account deletion, correction, or access requests.
Please do not provide personal information that is not necessary for using the Services.
2.2 Information Received Through Facebook Login
If you choose to register or sign in using Facebook Login, we receive and process information provided by Meta Platforms through the Facebook API.
Depending on the permissions you grant, this may include:
- Your Facebook app-scoped user ID;
- Your name;
- Your email address, if available and if you grant the email permission;
- Your public profile information, such as your profile picture;
- An authentication access token used to verify your login and connect your Facebook account to your tapes.fans account.
We use this information only to:
- Authenticate you and allow you to sign in;
- Create and maintain your tapes.fans account;
- Associate your Facebook login with your tapes.fans account;
- Display your name or profile picture within the Services;
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- Provide account support.
We do not use Facebook Login information for unrelated advertising purposes, and we do not sell information received from Meta.
Unless expressly requested by the application and disclosed here, tapes.fans does not access your Facebook friends list, private messages, posts, photos, pages, groups, birthday, or advertising information.
If tapes.fans requests any additional Facebook permissions in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to identify the exact data obtained and the purpose for which it is used before such processing begins.
You can remove tapes.fans from your Facebook account through Facebook’s Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites section. Removing the application from Facebook stops future access but may not automatically delete information already stored by tapes.fans. You can request deletion as described in Section 10.
2.3 Automatically Collected Information
When you use the Services, our servers and service providers may automatically collect:
- IP address;
- Browser type and version;
- Device type and operating system;
- Language and approximate location derived from your IP address;
- Referring URL;
- Pages viewed and actions performed;
- Login and access timestamps;
- Cookie identifiers;
- Diagnostic, security, and error logs.
We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.
2.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to:

4. Legal Bases for Processing
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we process personal information under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: to create your account and provide the Services;
- Consent: when you choose Facebook Login or consent to non-essential cookies;
- Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, analyze, and improve the Services and prevent misuse;
- Legal obligation: when processing is required to comply with applicable law;
- Legal claims: when necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.
You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.
5. How We Share Information
We may disclose personal information only as necessary to the following recipients:
5.1 Service Providers

We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with a law, court order, or lawful government request;
- Protect the rights, safety, and property of tapes.fans, our users, or others;

5.4 Business Transfers
If tapes.fans is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
5.5 Affiliate Links
tapes.fans participates in the eBay Affiliate Program. When you follow an affiliate link, eBay or another associated service may collect information under its own privacy policy and may use cookies or similar technologies to attribute purchases.
We may receive a commission from qualifying purchases. We do not receive your Facebook password or full payment card details from eBay.
We do not sell personal information received from Facebook or other Meta products.
6. Facebook Access Tokens and Passwords
We never receive your Facebook password.
Facebook access tokens, where retained, are treated as confidential authentication data. They are used only to perform the functionality authorized by you and are protected using reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.
Tokens may expire, be revoked by Meta, or be deleted when they are no longer required. You can revoke tapes.fans access through your Facebook Apps and Websites settings.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.
In general:
- Account information is retained while your account remains active;
- Facebook Login information is retained while your Facebook connection or tapes.fans account remains active;
- User-submitted content is retained until it is deleted or the related account is deleted, subject to legal and operational exceptions;
- Security and server logs are generally retained for up to [insert actual period, for example, 90 days];
- Support communications may be retained for up to [insert actual period, for example, 24 months];
- Information required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or legal claims may be retained for the applicable statutory period.
After an account deletion request is verified, we will delete or anonymize the relevant information within 30 days, unless retention is required by law or necessary for security or legal claims.
Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for up to [insert actual backup period, for example, 90 days] and will be removed through the normal backup deletion cycle. Backup information will not be restored to active systems except where required for disaster recovery, security, or legal compliance.
8. International Data Transfers
Our service providers or servers may be located outside your country. As a result, personal information may be processed in countries with different data protection laws.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or another legally recognized transfer mechanism.
9. Your Privacy Rights

10. Account and Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your tapes.fans account and associated personal information by:
1. Using the Delete account option at https://tapes.fans/users/profile-update; or
2. Sending an email to privacy@tapes.fans with the subject line “Data deletion request.”
Please include the email address or account identifier associated with your tapes.fans account. We may request additional information solely to verify account ownership.
A deletion request includes information received through Facebook Login, including your Facebook app-scoped user ID, name, email, profile picture reference, and stored authentication tokens, unless we are legally required to retain particular information.
You may also remove tapes.fans from Facebook through:
Facebook → Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites → tapes.fans → Remove
After receiving and verifying a deletion request, we will delete or anonymize the applicable information within 30 days, subject to the retention exceptions described in Section 7.
11. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
However, no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children’s Privacy
The Services are not intended for children under 13 or under the higher minimum age required by applicable local law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, contact [privacy@tapes.fans](mailto:privacy@tapes.fans), and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
13. Third-Party Websites
The Services may contain links to third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. You should review their privacy policies before providing personal information.
